AceShowbiz - A new picture from "Outlander" season 3 has been released to tide fans over the show's 2017 return. The photo features Claire (Caitriona Balfe) who is reunited with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) in 20th-century Boston.
In the image, Claire who just gave birth to Brianna, her daughter with Jamie (Sam Heughan), introduces the little girl to Frank, who will raise her as his own daughter. "This is right after Claire gives birth to Brianna," Balfe tells EW, which obtains the picture.
"Those scenes are wonderful because it's a new beginning, but it's so fraught with so many other things," she describes the moment captured in the picture. "Obviously, this is Jamie's child, but Claire's in a new time and believes that Jamie is dead. So she's really trying to look forward and give her daughter a new life, a stable family."
She continues, "I think it's difficult for both of them. Frank is coming to terms with his wife. He didn't quite know what had happened. She disappeared and she's back. They're tentatively trying to see if they can patch things up and allow themselves to embrace a future together. They really do try, but it's not quite that easy."
The third season will begin with the historic Battle of Culloden. It will focus on Claire's struggle to live without Jamie in 1948 and Jamie's life after the Battle of Culloden without Claire.
