While Scott Gimple says that the Morse Code theory wasn't something that he had planned, he thinks it's possible that Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus spoke in Morse Code during the filming.

AceShowbiz - "The Walking Dead" eagle-eyed fans have been speculating whether Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) were communicating in Morse Code when Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) took Daryl back to Alexandria to take everything from Alexandria in episode 4. Showrunner Scott Gimple recently denied that it was something that he had planned, but he didn't say that it wasn't there.
In a new interview with Yahoo! TV, Gimple shared his own thought on the Morse Code theory. "Andy [Lincoln] and Norman are really close. I think the theory actually could be correct, but not within the story," he said, suggesting that the two actors could be communicating with Morse Code during the filming.
The executive producer added, "Meaning, I don't put it past those two gentlemen, who are now so unbelievably close, that maybe Andy and Norman were communicating with each other, like they were saying, 'Oh, that was a good take. I really like what you did there. You're really bringing it.' "
In the fourth episode, Daryl could not freely speak when he's brought back to Alexandria, but viewers noticed that he's blinking a lot in some scenes. Added with the fact that there was a Morse Code chart on the wall of Rick's house earlier in the episode, it's believed that the two were talking in secret with Morse Code, with Daryl possibly telling Rick the location of the Sanctuary.
"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 P.M. ET on AMC.
