'Star Wars: Rogue One' Set Photos Emerge

The on-set photos of the first installment of 'Star Wars' anthology series feature spaceship wreckage as well as dead Stormtroopers.

AceShowbiz - The first installment of "Star Wars" anthology series "Rogue One" started production last week. While the cast and crew were busy working on the film, some on-set photos have made their way online, giving a look at a crash site of a downed starship and dead Stormtroopers.

The photos were seemingly taken at Elstree studios in London, the same location where the previously-debuted images were captured. The first photo features a huge wrecked spaceship in a beach area. There are also numerous Stormtroopers that died presumably because of the crash. They are floating on the seashore. According to sources, the sets have been recycled from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

" 'Rogue One' takes place before the events of 'Star Wars: A New Hope' and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the 'Star Wars' universe," said producer Kathleen Kennedy.

Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Claflin, Riz MC, Diego Luna and Forest Whitaker star in the movie. Gareth Edwards is directing with a script written by Chris Weitz. The sci-fi adventure movie is slated for a release in North America on December 16, 2016.
