Melissa is holding a Thanksgiving dinner at Joan's Upper East Side apartment to continue a tradition that the comedian did every year.

AceShowbiz - Melissa Rivers was hosting a Thanksgiving dinner at her mother Joan Rivers' Upper East Side condo, Joan's spokeswoman Judy Katz confirmed to Page Six. Melissa held the dinner with a group of close friends and relatives in honor of her late mother.

A source told the site, "Melissa is hosting the dinner in honor of Joan, and to continue a tradition she did every year. Joan would welcome her friends, relatives and anyone who might not have family members in New York to a Thanksgiving dinner at her home."

"Her table seats 50 people, and each year everyone had to stand up and tell the table what they were thankful for," the source continued, "This year, it will be sad without Joan, but Melissa wants the occasion to be a happy one, to remember her mother and everything she did for other people."

In the past few years, the guests included Joan's grandson Cooper, her niece Caroline Waxler, actress and comedian Lynne Koplitz, who appeared on "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?", and Vanity Fair's journalist Nancy Jo Sales.
