Ann Biderman has left "". The writer who created the Showtime series has stepped down as showrunner of the -starring drama, but she will stay on the show as a creative consultant. Sources say her departure was due to hefty financial overruns on the series.

Showtime President David Nevins says in a statement, "Ann Biderman is a uniquely gifted writer and creator. 'Ray Donovan' has become a signature asset for Showtime and Ann will continue as a creative consultant on the show. We look forward to continuing our relationship with her."

No new showrunner has been appointed as of press time. The network is currently in negotiations with David Hollander, who has been working on the show as writer and executive producer, to fill in the void left by Biderman.
