Creator Ann Biderman has stepped down as showrunner of the crime drama and Showtime is currently in talks with writer David Hollander to take over the post.

AceShowbiz - Ann Biderman has left "Ray Donovan". The writer who created the Showtime series has stepped down as showrunner of the Liev Schreiber-starring drama, but she will stay on the show as a creative consultant. Sources say her departure was due to hefty financial overruns on the series.
Showtime President David Nevins says in a statement, "Ann Biderman is a uniquely gifted writer and creator. She has done great work on 'Ray Donovan' from her very first pitch through the first two amazing seasons. 'Ray Donovan' has become a signature asset for Showtime and Ann will continue as a creative consultant on the show. We look forward to continuing our relationship with her."
No new showrunner has been appointed as of press time. The network is currently in negotiations with David Hollander, who has been working on the show as writer and executive producer, to fill in the void left by Biderman.
Filming on the second season of "Ray Donovan" recently completed. The show has been renewed for a 12-episode third season. Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff will remain on the show as executive producers, while Brett Johnson will return as a writer-producer.
