The exiting 'Late Late Show' host is reportedly near to scoring a new talk-show gig on Tribune-owned stations.

AceShowbiz - Craig Ferguson may move to another talk show once he quits CBS' "Late Late Show". The Scottish-born comedian is in final negotiations with Tribune Media to host a daily syndicated half-hour talk show, Variety reports.

Unlike his current show, the new program is not in the late-night slate. The new show is said to air in the 7 P.M. hour on Tribune Broadcasting stations. If the deal is finalized, the new talk show is expected to launch in fall 2015.

Michael Naidus, who currently executive produces "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson", will serve as showrunner of the new show, which will blend comedy and talkshow elements. The show will likely be followed by reruns of popular sitcoms like "The Big Bang Theory" at 7:30 P.M.

Ferguson announced in April that he would quit the "Late Late Show" at the end of this year. British actor James Corden is rumored as the candidate to replace Ferguson, but CBS has not made any official announcements.
