Joss Whedon Asks 'What to Do Now' as 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Filming Wraps

August 7, 2014, 9:37 am GMT

The writer/director finds himself unoccupied as he and the cast have completed the principal photography of the superhero sequel.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is one step closer to hitting theaters as writer and director Joss Whedon took to Twitter on August 7 to announce that filming had been wrapped. The director celebrated the end of the shoot by posting an edited picture of himself with a huge writing on top that reads, "Avengers Two Wrapped."

In the photo, the director is seen sitting on a piece of the set while staring directly at the camera looking troubled. He's wearing a cap with Avenger's symbol on it and asking, in caption form,"What the hell do I do now?"

Whedon's contract with Marvel will end in 2015, but the director still has a lot of things to do for the latest "Avengers" film. The work is certainly far from over since Whedon and the crew will now enter the post-production stage.

The end of filming doesn't mean that a trailer will quickly be released. Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige delivered the bad news in a recent interview with Cinema Blend. When asked when audience would get to see the Comic-Con trailer or any "Age of Ultron" trailer, the president said that it would not happen until "much later."

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will feature Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Aaron Johnson is added to the cast as Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch while James Spader will play the main baddie, Ultron. It will reach U.S. theaters on May 1, 2015.
