'Gotham' Adds Kyle Massey and Carol Kane

July 4, 2014, 8:18 am GMT

The 'That's So Raven' alum will appear as a neglected kid on the streets of Gotham, while the former 'Taxi' star will play The Penguin's mother.

"Gotham" has tapped two more actors to join its cast ensemble. Kyle Massey and Carol Kane are the latest additions to the highly-anticipated Batman prequel series, being cast in guest-starring roles.

Massey, who is best known for playing Cory Baxter on Disney Channel's "That's So Raven" and its spin-off "Cory in the House", will portray Macky, a neglected/abused kid who lives on the streets of Gotham.

Two-time Emmy winner Kane, meanwhile, will be seen as Gertrud Kapelput, the mother of Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin, who will be played by Robin Lord Taylor. The 62-year-old actress, who starred on 1980s' sitcom "Taxi", will first appear in the second episode.

"Gotham", from "The Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller, will explore the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains who made Gotham City famous. Benjamin Mckenzie is cast in the lead role as James Gordon, with Donal Logue starring as his mentor Detective Harvey Bullock.

Other stars on the drama series include David Mazouz (young Bruce Wayne), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle/future Catwoman), Jada Pinkett Smith (Fish Mooney), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean - Gordon's fiancee), Zabryna Guevara (Captain Essen - Gordon's boss), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth - Bruce Wayne's butler) and Cory Michael Smith (Edward Nygma a.k.a. the future Riddler).

The series will premiere this fall on FOX, but the exact date has not been announced yet. The show will have its world premiere at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Saturday, July 26 as part of WB/DC presentation.
