Report: Rawson Marshall Thurber Turns Down 'Ant-Man'

The 'We're the Millers' director reportedly decides not to take the job as an 'Ant-Man' new director replacing Edgar Wright.

"" drama continues. After Adam McKay ("") passed on "Ant-Man", now ThisIsInfamous reports that Rawson Marshall Thurber ("") also rejected the offer to replace Edgar Wright as a new director for the long-delayed comic book adaptation.

When McKay turned down the project, Thurber was hotly tipped as a frontrunner because the third candidate, Ruben Fleischer, seemed unlikely due to his reported discussions with Sony to helm "". However, Jeremy Smith of Ain't It Cool News insists Thurber hasn't got the offer at all.

Wright was attached to "Ant-Man" since 2006 but abruptly left due to alleged major script re-write. He likened his situation with Marvel with Buster Keaton's fallout with MGM back in 1920s by posting a Twitter picture of the late actor/director holding a Cornetto cone.

"Ant-Man" is planned to make its way out in the United States on July 17, 2015. Marvel assures that Wright's departure won't affect the release schedule. , , , , and Matt Gerald are among the cast.
