AceShowbiz - CBS has revealed its primetime line-up for the upcoming TV season with some major shifts. Having been on Wednesdays for quite a long time, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is relocating to Sundays at 10 P.M. Its new spin-off "CSI: Cyber" will also launch on the same time slot in midseason. Kevin Williamson's new drama "Stalker" now owns the Wednesday, 10 P.M. slot.
"The Big Bang Theory", meanwhile, will temporarily move to Mondays at 8 P.M. during the NFL season. Once the football games end, "2 Broke Girls" returns to the Monday slot and "Big Bang" is back to its normal Thursday spot.
"NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" is no longer paired with "NCIS: Los Angeles", which will now air on Mondays at 10 P.M. after newbie "Scorpion". Instead, new spin-off "NCIS: New Orleans" will take over the Thursday, 9 P.M. slot, enjoying the lead-in of its hit mother show.
NFL Football, which will debut on Thursdays, will delay the return of several shows like "Two and a Half Men" which has been announced to end after the upcoming season 12. CBS Corp. chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves said of the delay, "It just enables us to have more originals throughout the entire year. You're going to see periods that have no repeats all year."
Meanwhile, the much talked about "How I Met Your Dad" is not included in the network's fall 2014 line-up. CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler confirmed to reporters before the network's presentation on Wednesday, May 14 that it did not move forward with the "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off from Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Emily Spivey.
"There were elements on the pilot that didn't work out," she explained why they passed on the project. She added that "we tried to work out about redoing the pilot," but "it wasn't what [Bays and Thomas] wanted to do... That's not happening right now. Sometimes you run into these kind of issues and you hope they can resolve themselves in that time frame."
