The former NFL player gets a clock and a giant coffee mug as welcoming gifts as he stops by 'Good Morning America' to officially announce that he's joining the show as a co-host.

"" rolled out red carpet to welcome on Tuesday, April 15. The former American football defensive end made his debut on the morning show two weeks after addressing the news of his "GMA" gig on "Live! with Kelly and Michael"

Strahan, who will still co-host "Live!" with , showed up after a clip showing his childhood and his career transition was played. "The red carpet literally rolled out," said. "When I'm here a few days a week, does that play every time?" Strahan jokingly asked about the grand entrance.

His "GMA" co-workers presented him with a clock and a giant coffee mug as welcoming gifts. "The time is off so if I'm late on my first day, it's George [Stephanopoulos]'s fault 'cause he gave me a clock and it's not set with the right time," he joked about the clock gift, before adding, "It's a pleasure to get up early."

"A super-sized personality deserves a super-sized cup," Lara Spencer said when handing him out the super-sized mug. "We had that specially made for you, Mr. S." He quipped, "This is the only coffee cup that makes my hands look small. If I drink all this, there will be one heck of a good morning, America."

Roberts then let Strahan introduce "" recently eliminated pair, and Witney Carson, who pushed in a wheelbarrow filled with Strahan's favorite snack, Sour Patch Kids. The 42-year-old TV personality stuffed a bunch of the candy along with the clock into his mug before heading uptown to do "Live! with Kelly and Michael".

He will begin his co-hosting duty on "GMA" next week. It's expected that he will show up to lead stories he's passionate about in the first hour of the ABC show.
