HBO Releases Promo for a James Gandolfini Tribute Special

The late actor's friends and colleagues remember the 'Sopranos' star in 'James Gandolfini: Tribute to a Friend' which will air Sunday, December 22.

HBO will celebrate the life of in a tribute special. Titled "James Gandolfini: Tribute to a Friend", the 35-minute special will include more than two dozen friends and colleagues who knew and worked with the late actor.

In the first promo released for the tribute special, Gandolfini's "The Sopranos" co-star remembers their sweet moment together of having out-of-control laugh on the set of the show. Behind-the-scenes footage and clips from his TV and film works are also featured.

"James Gandolfini: Tribute to a Friend" will debut Sunday, December 22 at 8:30 P.M. ET on HBO.

The actor died of a heart attack on June 19 at age 51 while vacationing in Rome. He rose to prominence after starring as mob boss Tony Soprano on HBO's series "The Sopranos". He was honored in a tribute segment at the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, during which Falco delivered a moving speech about her on-screen husband and dear friend.
