The 'X-Men' actor is set to reteam with his 'Gods and Monsters' director Bill Condon, while The Rock is in talks along with helmer McG.

AceShowbiz - Two casting updates have come from the Toronto Film Festival. First off, AI Film reveals that Ian McKellen will reunite with his "Gods and Monsters" director Bill Condon in "A Slight Trick of the Mind", which is based on the Mitch Cullin novel that "The Duchess" scribe Jeffrey Hatcher is set to adapt.
McKellen is cast as the long-retired Sherlock Holmes, who lives in a sleepy Sussex village with his housekeeper and her amateur-sleuthing son, but is still haunted by an unsolved case from fifty years ago. With his legendary mental powers on the wane, and without his sidekick Watson, Holmes is faced with a case that might finally reveal to him the mysteries of the human heart.
Set to film next April in the U.K., the movie will be produced by Anne Carey, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman. Aviv Giladi, who calls Condon and McKellen "a perfect match for this clever and intriguing project," and Len Blavatnik will executive produce.
In another report, The Hollywood Reporter learns that Hyde Park Entertainment will co-finance "The Fall Guy" alongside WWE Studios. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in negotiation to star, with McG also entering talks to direct the pic about a Hollywood stunt man who supplements his income by doing bounty hunter work.
Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are set to write the feature version of the 1980s TV series, and Ashok Amritraj will produce with Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Michael Luisi.
