Actors' Equity has launched an investigation into the accident causing a leg injury to Daniel Curry, who is now 'in a stable condition.'

AceShowbiz - The production of Broadway hit "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" will continue despite an accident on Thursday, August 15. A spokesman for the $75 million show, Rick Miramontez, made a statement on Friday to confirm it as well as to give updates on Daniel Curry, the actor who sustained "a serious leg injury" during the performance, which was immediately halted.
"Following last night's accident at 'Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark', Daniel Curry remains in the hospital in stable condition having sustained an injury to his foot," Miramontez said. "Tonight's performance will go on as scheduled. The technical elements of the show are all in good working order, and we can confirm that equipment malfunction was not a factor in the incident. Our thoughts are with Daniel and his family."
Curry, who made his Broadway debut in the production, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital from the Foxwoods Theatre on West 42nd Street after his leg was caught in one of the mechanical stage lifts. The accident occurred after the start of the show's second act. Fire officials were called shortly after 9 P.M.
Actors' Equity Association is concerned and reveals that an investigation into the latest accident has been initiated.
"Acknowledging that theatre can be an inherently dangerous profession as technology continues to challenge the boundaries of creativity, and because of the technical difficulties and challenges in Spider-Man, the show has worked hard to have safety protocols in place," the statement read.
