A currently-unidentified performer in 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark' is rushed to Bellevue Hospital with a serious leg injury.

AceShowbiz - Series of accidents taking place during the show of Broadway hit "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" continues. The Associated Press recently reported that an actor sustained "a serious leg injury" during the Thursday, August 15 performance, which was immediately halted.

A spokesman for the show, Rick Miramontez, did not identify the actor, who was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. According to fire officials, the performer's leg got caught in equipment backstage. They were called to the Foxwoods Theatre on West 42nd Street shortly after 9 P.M. More information will be made available on Friday.

Several actors in the production of the $75 million show, which features music by Bono and The Edge of U2, have been left either hurt or hospitalized. Back in 2010, Christopher Tierney was sent to the same hospital after falling into a pit during the closing minutes of the musical, dubbed the most expensive one in Broadway history.

A source with the knowledge told N.Y. Times that Tierney "sustained broken ribs and suffered some internal bleeding." One of the audience members, Steven Tartick, recalled the terrifying moment occurring during a scene when Spider-Man is rescuing his love, Mary Jane, as she dangles from a rope attached to a bridge.

"You heard screams. You heard a woman screaming and sobbing," Tartick said.
