Words are, the 'Behind the Candelabra' actor is at the negotiation table with the network to star on a potential new series.

AceShowbiz - NBC may be not ready to lose Rob Lowe. After it's reported that the actor would depart "Parks and Recreation" mid-season 6, Deadline has learned that the Robert McCallister of "Brothers & Sisters" is close to signing a development deal to headline a potential new series on the network.
There's still no word on new TV series which will be Lowe's next starring vehicle, but the 49-year-old has been in production of Nat Geo's original movie "Killing Kennedy", in which he plays the title character. He is up to portray another U.S. president, Ulysses S. Grant, in miniseries "To Appomattox".
Lowe as well as co-star Rashida Jones are confirmed to leave the NBC comedy after episode 13 of the upcoming sixth season. "We've been working on their storyline (on and off) for four seasons now, and heading into this year, with the two of them contemplating parenthood, it felt like a natural time to move them into the next phase," showrunner/executive producer Mike Schur addresses the actors' exit in a statement.
"We absolutely love Rashida and Rob, and will be sad to see them go," Schur adds, "We think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them."
"Parks and Recreation" will return with an hour-long season premiere on Thursday, September 26 at 8 P.M. on NBC. Filmed on location in London, the episode will feature Heidi Klum as a guest star.
