The 'You're Beautiful' singer gets heavily criticized for sending email that contains the details of his new single, 'Bonfire Heart'.

AceShowbiz - Millions of people around the U.K. expressed their annoyance after receiving an email that urged them to listen to James Blunt's new single, "Bonfire Heart", despite not subscribing to his mailing list. "I'd like you to be the first to hear my new single," the email subject read.

"So... Just for you... Here's the first single from my new album...!" he wrote. The email also included a link to the new song, which Blunt said was "about love, life, fear and hope... and more than anything, you... and me..."

The email prompted a wave of criticism on Twitter. "If you receive an email with a link to the new James Blunt single, don't click on it. It's a link to the new James Blunt single!" a Twitter user said. "Let me see if I've got this right. If we want porn we have to opt IN, but if we don't want James Blunt we have to opt OUT?" another user tweeted.

Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt was one of million others who found the email annoying. "Great marketting from James Blunt's team I must say. Email the whole of the UK!" Nesbitt wrote.

Blunt later addressed the situation on his own Twitter page, writing, "Oops... Just emailed the whole of the UK by mistake! Ha!"

Warner Music explained that the incident happened due to a "clerical error." A spokesperson for the recording company said, "The email was accidentally serviced to some users who had subscribed to mailing lists for other Warner Music artists."

Produced by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, "Bonfire Heart" will be featured in Blunt's new album "Moon Landing". The album is slated to arrive in the U.S. on November 5. "This is a much more personal album, and also quite back to basics," Blunt said of his upcoming release.

"It's about me and Tom [Rothrock], the producer, finding where the story all started and where we are now. It's an album about dreams, longing, first love. About looking in the mirror and seeing the boy you were, the man you are -and learning to be comfortable with that, flaws and all," the 39-year-old singer added.
