Artist of the Week: Miley Cyrus

The 'We Can't Stop' singer busts the chart and rules the internet with her summer jam and its bizarre music video.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus makes a music comeback, three years after releasing "Can't Be Tamed", her third album but first effort to shake off her Disney image. This time, the former "Hannah Montana" further shows that she has grown up even more since the last time people heard "Can't Be Tamed".

Miley kicked off the new album promo with a bang as she released summer anthem "We Can't Stop". With the single, she has climbed up to No. 3 on Billboard Hot 100. She further made a statement with its music video which features a series of wild things representing the all grown-up Miley.

Though the single falls short of surpassing her highest-chart performance posted in 2009 through single "Party in the USA", it gave her an unprecedented feat to have the most-viewed music video in 24 hours. She broke the Vevo record, garnering 10.7 million views in a single day and beating out Justin Bieber's "Beauty and a Beat" video (10.6 million views).

A number of fan-made videos and remixes inspired by "We Can't Stop" are flooding the internet ever since. They include an Instagram video of Lena Dunham spanking Jemima Kirke, a group of puppies re-enacting the video, and Internet sensation Rebecca Black doing an acoustic version of the song.

While riding high on the success of her lead single, Miley is prepping for the release of her new album. It's still untitled and has yet to get a release date. Official announcement regarding the information and other related details is expected to be made soon.
