A representative for the couple confirms that the 'Saturday Night Live' writer has popped the question to his longtime girlfriend.

AceShowbiz - Seth Meyers is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Alexi Ashe. A representative for the couple confirmed to Us Weekly that the "Saturday Night Live" star and head writer recently popped the question to his lawyer girlfriend.
Meyers and Ashe have been together since a few years ago. They met for the first time at a wedding. A source told the magazine in 2011 that the couple's marriage was "on the horizon." The source added that the two "are incredibly solid."
Another source said of the comedian's proposal, "He's very excited for the next phase of his life. He's known that she's The One for awhile, but it was all about timing." The source explained, "With 'Late Night', his schedule will be slowly easing up. He wanted to do it after SNL wrapped [because] he didn't want to be an absentee fiance. Her family loves him."
The 39-year-old Meyers will replace Jimmy Fallon as the host of "Late Night" next year as he took over Jay Leno's spot as "The Tonight Show" host. NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said in May, "We think Seth is one of the brightest, most insightful comedy writers and performers of his generation."
"His years at SNL's Weekend Update desk, not to mention being head writer of the show for many seasons, helped him hone a topical brand of comedy that is perfect for the Late Night franchise. We couldn't be happier that Seth and Jimmy Fallon will be continuing their careers at NBC after growing up in this network's late night legacy," Greenblatt added.
Meyers said of his new gig, "I only have to work for Lorne for five more years before I pay him back for the time I totaled his car. 12:30 on NBC has long been incredible real estate. I hope I can do it justice."
