New 'Divergent' Pic Shows Off Dauntless Symbol

With blazing fire as its symbol, the Dauntless 'believe in freedom from fear' as shown in the new photo for Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet's upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - It is already known that the main character in "Divergent", Beatrice "Tris" Prior, has chosen to be a part of the Dauntless among five factions out there. How the symbol for the chosen faction looks like is now unveiled in the new pic, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, for the fantasy film from director Neil Burger.

The image gives a look at blazing fire in black and white as the symbol of the Dauntless. Besides, there is written the group's credo which says, "We believe in freedom from fear, in ordinary acts of bravery, in defending those who cannot defend themselves," seemingly answering fans' curiosity over why Tris has been seen taking two scary initiation tests.

In the first photo for the film, Tris showed no fear even though she became a knife-throwing target. The protagonist was then seen perching on a top of a building to jump with some Dauntless members behind her in the second pic, which particularly left special memories for Burger.

"We'd been nervously planning it because it is dangerous and there's a lot of people on that roof. We had to pull it off safely and also pull it off cinematically," the director said of his experience shooting the scene. "So you have this knot in your stomach as you watch this young woman decide to do this crazy thing."

Featuring Shailene Woodley as the lead actress, the film is set to open in U.S. theaters on March 21, 2014.
