AceShowbiz - "Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites" crowned a champion in its Sunday, May 12 episode, but not before a drama. The season finale began with an immediate medical evacuation as Erik Reichenbach started not feeling well after the last Tribal Council.
A doctor examined his condition and said he had low blood pressure. The medical team decided to pull him out of the game and he was told that he would not return, leaving only four remaining players in the game: Dawn Meehan, Edward "Eddie" Fox, John Cochran and Sherri Biethman.
The foursome then played stacking up a house of card in the Reward Challenge, with the winner getting an advantage in the final Immunity Challenge. After toppling several times, John finally completed his house of card first and won the challenge.
In the Final Immunity Challenge, they had to race up a giant structure to get a bag of puzzles and assemble it. John's advantage was that his bags of puzzle were untied and it proved to be advantegous as John won the immunity.
Eddie tried to convince John to get Dawn out of the final 3. He also claimed that he had no chance to win because he had no strategy, but Dawn did. John and the others seemingly didn't buy it as they voted Eddie out.
When it's time for the Final Tribal Council, Dawn claimed she controlled the game, while Sherri said she approached the game as a busines and did a great job building relationships. John, meanwhile, was honest by admitting that he lied and backstabbed, but he did it all just to stay ahead of other players.
Brenda Lowe confronted Dawn for backstabbing her. Eddie wanted Sherri to realize that she got carried to the finals as saying, "You never played anything this entire game, you were a seashell on the beach." Eddie also called John weak.
John, however, clearly gave the best speech and answers, getting a unanimous vote to be the Sole Survivor. "Obviously, it feels incredible," Cochran said of his win. "I've loved this game for half of my life. It's a dream come true."
"The first time I went it into it ... everyone perceived me as a nerd, a socially awkward freak," he went on recalling the time he was on "Survivor: South Pacific". "I got to focus on the game this time instead of how I'm perceived. ... I'm kind of speechless. Accepting my eccentricities as just part of me instead of an embarrassment ... I'm proud of who I am!"
John took home the $1 million prize and became the second ever contestant to have played a "perfect game", meaning he got no votes cast against him and a unanimous jury vote.
