The former Beatle's $1.05 billion fortune puts him at No. 1 of the Sunday Times' list for the 25th straight year.

AceShowbiz - Legendary rocker Sir Paul McCartney is the wealthiest British musician this year, leading the Sunday Times' Rich List with a $1.05 billion fortune he now shares with third wife Nancy Shevell. The 70-year-old artist has reigned the list ever since the London newspaper began compiling it, topping the rundown for 25 consecutive years now, starting back in 1989 when he first made it to No. 1 with his then-net worth of already over a hundred million dollars.

Trailing McCartney in the runner-up position is musical theatre impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber with an estimated fortune of $954 million, followed by Irish rock band U2 at third place with $800 million. Sharing the fourth and fifth spot with almost identical $307 million in estimated net worth are former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham a.k.a. Victoria Adams who shares husband David Beckham's fortune, and the The Rolling Stones founding member Mick Jagger.

In the complete list that will be published on April 21, the rankings of the other supposed names which make it to the richest list will be revealed, said to consist of Sir Elton John, another Rolling Stones founding member Keith Richards and former The Police frontman Sting. Other power couples who are included are Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon Osbourne and Coldplay lead vocalist Chris Martin who shares his fortune with actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Sunday Times also released a separate ranking of young music millionaires, with "Skyfall" singer Adele besting all others with an estimated $46 million. Cheryl Cole of girl group Girls Aloud places second with $22 million, while each of the five One Direction heartthrobs, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson follows behind with $7.7 million.
