'Boardwalk Empire' Casts Ron Livingston as New Regular

The Jack Berger of 'Sex and the City' TV series joins the fourth season of the HBO period show as a wealthy out-of-town businessman.

"" has added to the cast lineup of its forthcoming season 4. The Captain Lewis Nixon depicter on miniseries "Band of Brothers" joins the critically-acclaimed period drama series as a new regular.

The 45-year-old actor will portray Roy Phillips, a wealthy out-of-town businessman who catches the eye of Gillian Darmody (). The role marks his return to HBO after he starred as Jack Berger on "Sex and the City" series and as Mark Wallace in TV movie "".

Livingston was last seen in Disney's movie "" which also featured and . He also has a role in horror film "", which will be released in the U.S. on July 19.

The fourth season of "Boardwalk Empire" is currently in production for a premiere later this year. The show nabbed four trophies at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards held last September.
