The German singer said she would not go into marriage again in 2008, a year before she met HIV activist Dr. Mitch Besser.

AceShowbiz - Despite vowing not to get married again, Annie Lennox broke her own words on Saturday, September 15 when she walked down the aisle for the third time. The "No More I Love You's" singer married HIV activist Dr. Mitch Besser whom she met three years ago at her fundraiser.

A representative for Lennox confirmed the wedding that took place on a private boat on the Thames River. Around 150 friends and family attended the private ceremony with Lennox's daughters, Lola and Tali, serving as bridesmaids. Actor Colin Firth and comedienne Ruby Wax were spotted among the crowd. The guests were treated with sashimi, mini roast puddings and mini fruitcakes.

According to reports, the bride wore a long white gown with lace bolero shrug and a vintage 1920s-style headpiece. On Facebook, Lennox posted a photo of her wedding flowers which are in white and pastel pink. The newlyweds will go on an unknown destination for their honeymoon.

Lennox was previously married to Radha Raman and Uri Fruchtmann, the latter who is the father of her two daughters. Back in 2008 Lennox said, "No more marriage for me. I don't see the point of it. It's not that I'm such a cynic. To share one's life with someone is a beautiful thing. But for the moment, I'm a single person. That's not to say I wouldn't like to have a special relationship with someone. But I haven't made a great job of it in the past. It would be pretty challenging to share my world. Life is pretty full."
