First Trailer for 'Dredd' Leaked

Packed with plenty of slow-motion scenes, the footage shows Dredd and Anderson embarking on some high-octane combats in Mega City One.

The first trailer for Lionsgate Films' upcoming comic book flick "" has been leaked online. Featuring an apocalyptic landscape in a futuristic world, the footage is studded with slow-motion action scenes involving the titular character and his partner Judge Anderson.

Shortly before the trailer leaked out, Lionsgate released an official 10-second preview for the R-rated movie. It features a quick glimpse at Dredd as he uses his trusty gun to kill some bad guys.

"Dredd" follows the titular character who is the most feared judge among other elite Street Judges in Mega City One. He has the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot if necessary.

Starring as the eponymous judge is . He is joined in the cast ensemble by as Anderson, as Ma-Ma, Langley Kirkwood as Judge Lex, Francis Chouler as Judge Guthrie, and Deobia Oparei as Judge T.J. Alvarez.

Based on John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra's comic strip of the same name, "Dredd" is directed by Pete Travis with Alex Garland penning the script. The actioner will open wide in theaters across the U.S. on September 21.
