'Celebrity Apprentice' Recap: Penn Jillette Gets Fired for Weak Slogan
In the latest episode of "The Celebrity Apprentice", Donald Trump tasked the two teams to create an in-store display and a signature slogan for Trump's new cologne, Success. Aubrey O'Day was chosen as the project manager for team Unanimous, while Clay Aiken was team Forte's project manager. It was the second time they went head to head as opposing team leaders.
In team Forte, Dayana Mendoza quickly came up with racy ideas, but Clay thought it's too sexual for this task. They finally went with "You earned it" theme which was proposed by Penn Jillette. Dayana did a photo shoot with a male model.
In team Unanimous, Aubrey turned down several ideas from her team members as she tried to find fresh, not bling bling meaning behind success. When Arsenio Hall came up with "Trust your instincts", Aubrey agreed with the idea and took credit for the slogan. She wanted Eric Trump to be their model.
When meeting the younger Trump, Aubrey took credit for everything and said that neither Arsenio nor Teresa Giudice could make a strong concept. Arsenio, on the other hand, felt that Aubrey was getting bossier. Meanwhile, Dayana was worried about Clay being a wishy-washy leader.
At the presentation, Aubrey made a nasty joke on Arsenio. When it's time for team Forte's presentation, Clay didn't know what to say when the executives told him to continue his short speech. The execs told Mr. Trump that they loved team Unanimous' slogan, but team Forte did better with their picture.
When meeting Mr. Trump at the Boardroom, both Clay and Aubrey said only good things about their teams. Eric then confronted Aubrey about her saying that she's a one-man ship in their team. Aubrey once again claimed that she came up with the slogan, though Arsenio explained that he found it on the internet.
Mr. Trump then announced that team Unanimous won by a nose. Aubrey got $40,000 for her charity, while the other team members got $10,000 each. Mr. Trump asked Clay whom he would bring back to the Boardroom, and the singer saved Lisa Lampanelli.
Dayana and Penn talked about Clay's leadership, and both thought that the "American Idol" alumna should be fired. Mr. Trump, however, thought that Penn was to blame for coming up with the bad slogan.
"I wanna fire Dayana but I won't because she's great this week. I wanna fire you (Clay) because you're the project manager, but I won't," so he said before delivering the final verdict, "So I'm gonna fire Penn, because I hate the slogan. Penn, you're fired!"
