AceShowbiz - Lionel Richie apparently owes the federal government a big sum of money. The soul singer is $1.1 million in debt for the income tax leftover in 2010. A court document obtained by TMZ stated $1,130,609.11 to be exact.
Richie is worth an estimated $200 million and can easily pay the IRS. However, he has been slapped with a lien which allows the country to take away his possessions if he doesn't pay any sooner.
Richie, father of reality star Nicole Richie, has kept his income streaming. He has a recurring role on "The Voice" as one of the mentors this season and will be a permanent judge on a new singing competition called "Duets". His latest album, titled "Tuskegee", was released in March, featuring 13 duets of his biggest hits.
