'Community' Creator Unleashes Expletive Word to Chevy Chase at Wrap Party

April 2, 2012 (7:57 am) GMT
Rumor has it, Dan Harmon and the Pierce Hawthorne of the NBC comedy series have been in a war of words with sources revealing that the actor walked off the set during the last day of filming.

An internal feud may rock "". The show's creator Dan Harmon and actor have reportedly been entangled in an ugly public war of words, which led to the former giving a "f**k you, Chevy" speech in front of the 68-year-old comedian, his wife and daughter at the season 3 wrap party.

According to Deadline, Chase left the bash immediately and then left Harmon a voice message, calling the creator "fat" and "an alcoholic" among other things. The voice message, which was filled with profane language, has since leaked onto the web after Harmon allegedly played it in front of other people.

One of the accounts that marks their feud reportedly took place on the last day of filming the show's season 3 last month. Multiple sources revealed that Chase walked off the set without filming one of his scenes because he had not received a script for the scenes. Other sources claimed the actor left because he felt the scenes weren't funny.

Some people close to the matter said they weren't surprised by the feud because Chase already had a reputation of being difficult before signing on for "Community". However, a source claimed that most of the cast and crew members who attended the wrap party disapproved of Harmon's behavior at the bash. Another source said the feud was "inevitable", since the two have been described as "passionate" or "volatile".

It's unclear whether the falling-out between Harmon and Chase will affect the show. The producers are now said to be focusing on getting a fourth-season renewal for the college comedy.

Meanwhile, Chase has previously hinted that he isn't all into "Community". Being interviewed by The Huffington Post before completing the third season, he admitted that he has "creative issues with this show." He explained, "With my character, with how far you can take ['s] character ... just to give him a long speech about the world at the end of every episode is so reminiscent. It's like being relegated to hell and watching 'Howdy Doody' for the rest of your life."

He went on suggesting that he might leave the show sometime soon as saying, "I would like to see it go further. I think, if you know me and my humor over the years, you know that this is certainly not my kind of thing. I probably won't be around that much longer, frankly."

"Community" season 3 has just returned on air in mid-March after going on hiatus since early December 2011. In the next episode which will air Thursday, April 5, the Greendale gang will have a pillow fight.
