In the new Academy Awards promo video co-produced by Funny or Die, the 'Austin Powers' actor is seen teaching the Oscar winner how to grip the golden statuette in a right way.

AceShowbiz - Mike Myers schools Kevin Kline about some "Oscar Etiquette" in a new promo video released by the AMPAS. The hilarious clip, which is co-produced by Funny or Die, sees the "Austin Powers" actor teaching the Oscar-winning actor how to grip the fabled golden statuette in a right way.

Donning a bald cap, Myers is seen channeling British aristocrat and Oscar expert Sir Cecil Worthington. He blames Kline for mishandling his Oscar kudo when winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in "A Fish Called Wanda" in 1989. Myers yells at Kline, "Left hand under the base, right hand on the statuette...below the knees." He also tells Kline to repeatedly say, "Keep the thumb below the bum."

Previously, the Academy and Funny or Die have produced another comedic promo video that features Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel tracking down a long-lost fabled "Host", Billy Crystal, who has fallen "off the grid."

Of why he uses comedy to promote this year's Oscars telecast, producer Don Mischer told Entertainment Weekly, "Comedy is what really helps keep people with you, and keep an evening moving and entertaining when you have a long show."

He added, "I think that you can be irreverent, and I think that you can take yourself not so seriously with comedy, and have a little fun, but underneath it all there's got to be a fundamental respect of the Oscar."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be held on Sunday, February 26, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The prestigious show will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide by the ABC Television Network.
