Motocross star Travis withdraws from the Nationwide Series race at Lucas Oil Raceway this Saturday, July 30 after breaking bones in his right foot and ankle following a crash at X Games 17.

AceShowbiz - Travis Pastrana won't be making his debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as planned. The 27-year-old motocross star has to withdraw from the race at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis this Saturday, July 30 after breaking bones in his right foot and ankle at the X Games in Los Angeles.
"We can't wait to get him healed and in our race cars," said Michael Waltrip, the team owner of Michael Waltrip Racing. "We talked to our sponsor Boost Mobile and agreed to withdraw from Indy and delay our debut. We've waited a long time for someone like Travis Pastrana. I guess we'll just have to wait a little bit longer."
On the decision to delay Travis' debut, Michael later told reporters, "It was an easy decision to make, just disappointing. The main thing is Travis' health." He further suggested that the X Games gold medalist is likely to make his debut at Richmond International Raceway on September 9, adding "He's going to work with his doctors and find out if that's realistic."
Travis suffered a bone-breaking crash when he was making his second attempt at a corked 720 he's dubbed "the toilet paper roll" during the Moto X Best Trick event on Thursday, July 28. "I'm on my way to the hospital for x rays, something with my foot, Ill keep everyone posted.. Might be driving with my hands on Saturday," he tweeted about his injury.
The motorsports competitor, who got engaged to longtime girlfriend Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins in June, has since been released from the hospital. He is required to get surgery for his injuries at a later date. Following his release, he told ESPN, "I am sorry this happened and will be back in action as soon as I can."
