'Vampire Diaries' Season 3 Teased Ahead of Comic Con

Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec shared what they plan to present at the Fall season, including Damon-Elena relationship and Jeremy's new journey.

AceShowbiz - Before they run to San Diego Comic Con this Saturday, July 23 to talk lengthily about the new season of "The Vampire Diaries", executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec gave out some notes to THR. Some of their teases may contain spoilers of season 3.

They began by talking about season 2 finale where Damon and Elena got closer, Stefan fed his basic instinct and Jeremy met his dead ex-lovers. "We didn't want six dangling cliffhangers so we had to pick out in the moment, in the same night at the same time. We wanted to bring every bit of a resolve so we could jump ahead a little bit," Williamson said.

Plec added, "We set up the big building blocks this season, which is Stefan is off with Klaus back on blood doing god knows what to god knows who. Damon and Elena's relationship, their friendship has had a moment that will certainly, over time, the two of them being stuck together knowing that Stefan's off doing god knows what and god knows where can bring them a bit closer. And Jeremy's seeing something."

The decision to bring back Vicki and Anna, as it turns out, was based on the producers' unwillingness to say goodbye to the actresses. "We weren't faking around. She was dead. She was as dead as it gets," Plec said of Kayla Ewell's character Vicki. "It felt right for who Jeremy was with his character, his relationship with Bonnie, to reintroduce these really powerful love elements so that Bonnie could experience the consequences that the witches threatened."

Williamson refuses to confirm whether Bonnie will find out what happen to Jeremy, saying "The thruline goes left, it goes right, it goes a bunch of different ways before it reveals what it is and what the storyline itself is about and what's going to happen. It's Jeremy's journey."

"The Vampire Diaries" screening and panel would be held at Ballroom 20 starting 3:30 P.M.
