Walt and his wife Skyler will get closer as they are partnered in a business, while Jesse is battling his inner demon after firing his gun last season.

AMC has debuted a new trailer for "" season 4 that will premiere this summer on Sunday, July 17 at 10/9c. It contains no new footage but compiles intense scenes from the previous season, including some gun-shooting scenes.

According to The Daily Beast, in the new season "Walt and Jesse have to deal with the consequences of their actions, as Walt squares off with Gus and Jesse becomes increasingly aloof. Skyler commits to laundering Walt's money in order to keep her sister Marie and Hank, who is recovering from his shooting last season, financially afloat."

Meanwhile, more details to the characters have been provided by the series creator Vince Gilligan. "Walt () will find himself less enchanted with the world of meth production than he currently does," he tells Entertainment Weekly. "He journeys deeper into this criminal underworld, and then much of season 4 is Walt's effort to get out from under and overcome in a very dangerous battle of wills."

As his professional life gets darker, Walt and his wife Skyler () "will come to some sort of an understanding," Gilligan goes on explaining. The couple is partnered in a business "which will bring them together - and also cause a lot of friction."

Cranston chimes in that for the first time Skyler will see her husband "as a dangerous man - an intimidating, powerful man." He adds, "And she gets involved, and she has some very good ideas and surprising ideas to Walt. So they become closer in at least one way."

As for Jesse (), he is struggling with his inner demons after he shot Gale (David Costabile) per Walt's instruction last season. Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) will unleash his full power in his battle with Walt, while his past and empire will be dug deeper. At the same time, Marie () works very hard to nurse her husband, Hank (Dean Norris), who will unhappily embark on a difficult rehabilitation process after taking a few bullets in a shootout.
