Gary Coleman's Death Image Hits Stands, Crime Investigator Explains Murder Evidence

June 10, 2010 (6:35 am) GMT
Editors of the Globe published an unpleasant picture of the late actor with a crime investigator saying as quoted in the article, 'The pictures of the scene that I examined strongly suggest a murder.'

's death image has become a public consumption as on Wednesday, June 9, editors of U.S. tabloid the Globe have published the controversial photograph. On the cover of the paper, Coleman is seen hooked up to a ventilation machine and his eyes were closed, while his ex-wife Shannon Price is beside him staring at the camera.

Sold for $10k, Coleman's unpleasant picture, which was taken just hours before his death, graced the cover of the tabloid along with an article suggesting the "Diff'rent Strokes" star was murdered. On the article, a crime investigator Ted Gunderson told the publication the evidence points to a struggle with a possible intruder at the actor's home.

"I hope we're not seeing an inexperienced police force make up its mind without knowing what they've got. To me, the pictures of the scene that I examined strongly suggest a murder occurred," Gunderson stated. "You can tell from a blood smear on the wall that he (Coleman) fell over backward with a great deal of force, then turned his head at impact... This is a job for scientists, not beat cops."

The sale of the photo, reportedly done by Price, has drawn condemnations from several persons close to Coleman. Todd Bridges, Coleman's "Diff'rent Strokes" on-screen brother reacted, "First of all, disgust went through my mind. I will not choose to remember my friend in that way. I will choose to remember him as the funny, smart little kid who joked around, who had fun, who roller skated with me, [who made] club treehouses [with me] in our dressing rooms. That's how I'm going to remember Gary."

Meanwhile, Dion Mial, a friend and former manager of Coleman who is trusted to become the executor of the late actor's estate, said in an email to CNN, "Knowing Gary, as well as anyone could have, I assure his closest family, friends and fans that his disdain for this behavior would be unquestionable and paramount to any foregoing profession of 'love' for Shannon that might have ever poured from his lips."
