Held at UCLA's Royce Hall Auditorium, the event gave out prizes to Benjamin Bratt and Selena Gomez among others.

AceShowbiz - "The Cleaner" which ended its second season this week, spawned a winner at 2009 ALMA Awards on Thursday, September 17. Benjamin Bratt who plays the lead character William Banks earned the honor to be Best Actor in Drama. The actor who came to the event accompanied by model wife Talisa Soto, was on hand to receive the statuette.

In another category, Selena Gomez won her first ALMA through her portrayal as a teen wizard on "Wizards of Waverly Place". Oscar Nunez aka Oscar on NBC's "The Office" won the Best Actor in Comedy while Lauren Velez aka Lt. Maria Laguerta on Showtime's "Dexter" won Best Actress in Drama.

This year's ALMA Awards is the fourth in a row. Its objective is to honor the Hispanic community specializing in entertainment business including feature movies and music.
