Kristen Johnston recreates Lady Godiva's nude pose in PETA's new ad campaign against horse-drawn carriage.

AceShowbiz - Emmy-Award winning actress Kristen Johnston takes her clothes off for a new People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)'s ad campaign against horse-drawn carriage. As seen in the news photo, she poses naked on the back of a horse, recreating the famous nude pose of Lady Godiva, an Anglo-Saxon noblewoman who, according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry in England in order to gain a remission of the oppressive taxation imposed by her husband on his tenants.

Kristen's provocative PETA ad will debut Thursday, November 20 in Central Park and appear on New York City taxis. The ad is aimed at tourists, heading for Central Park for the holidays, who are tempted to take a carriage ride.

In an interview with the animal rights organization, Kristen reveals that she was inspired to get involved in the ad against horse-drawn carriages after she attended a New York screening of 2006 movie "Blinders." "I was blown away by how these horses live, or actually I should say, don't live," the actress says in a statement. "I'd say to tourists who are considering coming to New York, there's so much amazing stuff about Manhattan ... Oh my God, just take a walk." She adds, "And I hope within the next year that there are no more carriage horses."
