Director Richard Linklater revealed on the possibility of 'The School of Rock' sequel getting to the big screen.

"" might never see the big screen after all. Reporting on the matter, First Showing claimed that "" director Richard Linklater has confessed on the slim possibility of the sequel to be happening.

At the "" world premiere in 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, the Academy Award-nominated director further hinted that the words of him being attached to the sequel are most likely to be a false one since his involvement has yet to be confirmed. In fact, he revealed that he had been contacted by the studio about the plan for sequel only once and wasn't sure whether he would take the project.

Earlier, it has been reported that "America Rocks" is scripted by the original writer Mike White. This time, the flick will follow Dewey Finn, originally starred by , once again as he leads a group of summer school students on a cross-country field trip which will be filled with a deeper understanding of the history of rock 'n' roll and exploration on the roots of blues, rap, country and other musical genres. The Paramount Pictures film is slated for 2010 release.
