Seeing the success of Sarah Jessica Parker and co. with their 'Sex and the City' movie, the original cast of 'Friends' are said to finally agree on doing the big screen version of the sitcom.

AceShowbiz - In May, the movie version of HBO hit television series about the four New York gal pals, "Sex and the City", has stunned many when it brought home as much as $56.8 million from its first three-days theatrical screening only. And it appears that the success of the Michael Patrick King's film has pushed people behind another lovable sitcom "Friends" to move on with their big screen plan.

According to Daily Mail, the cast ensemble of the David Crane and Marta Kauffman-scripted sitcom, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer, have been so inspired by the success of "SATC" that they finally agreed to do the movie. "Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances," explained a source. "The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a 'Friends' film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions."

Earlier reports have speculated that the movie plan has been put on hold because Aniston was hesitant to reprise her role as Rachel Green. Giving clarification to that, the source added, "As the biggest star of the Friends franchise, Jennifer can't help but look at what's happened with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex And The City film and be a little jealous. What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again. But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again."

"She says she and Courteney have already talked this summer about what they want out of a Friends movie, and if deals can be made with them, everything else can fall into place rather quickly. It really comes down to money, and I don't think Jen has a problem with all of the Friends getting huge paydays for the movie. In that sense, it's Sex And The City all over again. There's no movie unless you can reunite the whole cast and keep them all happy financially."

"Friends" is a long running sitcom about a group of friends, three guys and three girls, in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Throughout its ten years of show run, the story resolves around the friendship, romance and new experiences they all facing while living in the city that never sleeps. Charming audiences with the complicated romantic relationship between its two leading characters, Rachel and Ross, it has been one of the most successful sitcoms of all time with it never missing out the top five on Nielsen Rankings and with its series finale watched by 52.5 million viewers making it to be hailed the second highest rated show in 2004 as well as the biggest TV moment of the year 2004.
