Orlando Bloom Nabs 'An Education'

The Will Turner of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' trilogy has nailed a role in the coming-of-age drama set in 1960s entitled 'An Education'.

AceShowbiz - The blacksmith-turned-pirate in "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy Orlando Bloom has landed himself a role in drama film "An Education". According to Variety, the 31-year-old movie star will be joining the already star-studded cast, including Peter Sarsgaard, Rosamund Pike and Emma Thompson.

Though it still isn't clear which character he will be portraying, it is understood that he will act alongside recent casting members, Alfred Molina and Sally Hawkins, as well. In this coming-of-age film, the co-star of Kirsten Dunst in "Elizabethtown" will be acting under the direction of Denmark filmmaker Lone Scherfig.

Penned by Nick Hornby, "Education" is set in 1960s London and tells the story of a 17-year-old girl, played by rising actress Carey Mulligan, who fell head over heels to a man way older than her because of his dazzling high profile life. Scheduled to start filming in London in March and April, the film is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2008.
