Michael Douglas to be honoured in Canada for UN work.

AceShowbiz - Veteran actor Michael Douglas has been slated to receive an honor, not for his movie work, but for his role as a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
As UN Messenger of Peace, Douglas has campaigned for nuclear disarmament and the control of small arms. He has also been vocal about America's massive debt to the UN.
Concerning the honor, the movie star is set to attend a special tribute dinner, organized by the United Nations Association, Nov. 1 later this year at the Four Seasons hotel in Toronto, Canada.
Tickets for the event are available at $500 each. Corporate tables run from $4000 to $50,000. Money raised will benefit the UNA-Canada youth and education programs and the United Nations Public Information Trust.
