*The Aspern Papers* is a drama-mystery film that follows the story of a young editor who travels to Venice to obtain the unpublished letters of a famous 19th-century American poet. The editor becomes entangled in a web of intrigue and deception as he tries to gain access to the letters, which are held by two elderly sisters who are the poet's former lovers.
