Vinyl 1.09 (Preview) is a preview of the ninth episode of the first season of the HBO television series Vinyl. The episode was written by Terence Winter and directed by Allen Coulter. It aired on February 28, 2016. The episode follows Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale) as he tries to salvage his record label, American Century Records, after its near-bankruptcy. He does this by signing a new band, the Nasty Bits, and releasing their album, "Raw Power." The episode also features the return of Kip Stevens (James Jagger), who Richie had previously fired.
