Lone-wolf Mozzie becomes smitten with his favorite diner waitress, Gina, when they bond over a love of mystery novels. So when the object of his crush secretly signals him that she may be in trouble, Mozzie leaps into action. Desperate for help, Mozzie comes looking for Neal in the one place he swore he would never set foot - the office of the FBI.
Not wanting to get Peter involved, Neal does a little misappropriating of FBI resources. A quick scan through the database turns up Gina's address, but when they arrive, Mozzie's worst fears are confirmed; Gina has been kidnapped!
However, Gina cleverly left a clue for Mozzie, pointing them in the direction of a cigar bar. Little do they realize that the cigar bar is owned by Cristofer Navarro, a Columbian ex-drug lord who has moved on to weapons and racketeering and who doesn't take kindly to trespassers.
Luckily, Neal's sneaking around hasn't escaped Peter's watchful eyes. Realizing what Neal has gotten himself into, Peter arrives at the cigar bar just in time to save Neal from Navarro's wrath.
Back at the office, Mozzie fills the furious Peter in on the whole story. The team soon realizes that poor Gina is nothing more than bait, used to draw out her boyfriend Tommy who stole Navarro's money. But when Tommy skips town, the team has a day to find him, or Mozzie's dream woman may be gone for good.
