When a local laundromat calls in a request for protection, Wozniak (Ray Liotta) and Harlee (Jennifer Lopez) are confronted by a former marine suffering violent hallucinations. The marine dries out in a holding cell, but is picked up the next day for the murder of a local building owner. Although the marine admits to getting violent during his blackouts, Wozniak is not convinced of his guilt and decides to investigate.
A homeless man who witnessed the murder gives Wozniak a new lead: the owner of a kink club located in the neighboring building. Wozniak sends Loman (Dayo Okeniyi) and Tufo (Hampton Fluker) to talk to the owner, but when they get to the club, they find him dead in the back room. Neither detective notes Joaquin (one of the messengers who delivered the kidnapped man to Wozniak) exiting as they arrive.
Wozniak and Harlee finally get a face-to-face with the organizer of the big job, and he's a DEA agent named Linklater who's planning to steal his agency's money. He promises the job is simple and safe: Wozniak and his crew will intercept an armored car driven by Linklater's men (one of whom is Joaquin) and make it look like a robbery. Then they'll meet Linklater and Donnie (Michael Esper) at an airstrip, where everyone will get their cut of the payday... which is $12 million.
Wozniak takes this information to the crew, who, despite clear reservations, all vote to do the job. Harlee meets with Stahl (Warren Kole) to tell him what's happening and to ask for something: immunity for the rest of her crew. She knows he's getting a much bigger bust than he thought, and she needs to be able to live with herself when it's all over. She kisses him, and Stahl says he'll make the call to Baker. But when he leaves the room to call, he only pretends to talk to Baker.
Outside the precinct, Harlee thinks she sees Miguel on the street. Spooked, she follows the familiar figure until she loses him. She's unsure what's real until she receives a message from Nava that Miguel has been released from prison. Harlee finds Miguel at his mom's house, and he asks Harlee for permission to see Cristina (Sarah Jeffery). Harlee requests that he wait until he's gotten his life back on track. Miguel agrees, but later goes to Harlee's apartment, where Cristina is home alone. When Cristina tells Miguel he's not her real father, he calls Harlee, who unwittingly confirms Miguel's parentage for Cristina. Devastated by her mother's betrayal, Cristina goes outside to meet Miguel.
