Saving Hope Episode 2.09 Vamonos

Alex is set to perform a gender reassignment surgery on a hopeful patient who's there with his mother cheering him on. When the last-minute discovery of a mysterious mass on one of his scans forces Alex to put the surgery on hold, she promises to solve the problem. This proves easier said than done after she's unable to remove the mass in surgery.

As Alex digs deeper into her patient's medical history she uncovers a secret that could save his surgery, but destroy his relationship with his mother. In the E.R., Charlie treats a patient who seems perfectly healthy and totally sane, but is sure she's going to die at midnight thanks to a mysterious pattern that's followed the women in her family for generations. Charlie convinces her that there's no reason to believe she's cursed - but when she collapses on her way out of the hospital, his own ideas about destiny are challenged.

Meanwhile, Joel steps up to the plate as he secretly tries to help Sonja deal with one of her clients who's been admitted to Hope Zion - while Sonja notices something about Joel that even he seems oblivious to. The truth prevails in more than one instance this week at Hope-Z.
