The Real World Episode 21.11 Saving a Private Ryan

Real World: Brooklynroommate Ryan has only given his roommates a glimpse into his life as a war veteran. Ryan has mentioned that he could get called back to Iraq but what will happen if that call reaches him in New York?

The 2008 election has descended upon the Red Hook house and the roommates are pumped about their candidates. Ryan shares his war scrapbooks with some of his roommates but he still is focused on his career in film.

Ryan brings his roommates to the screening of his film, "No More Tomorrow," for his New York Film Academy graduation. Ryan and Scott then attend an Iraq Veterans Against the War benefit concert.

Ryan's brother Aaron, who is also in the military, comes to visit the Brooklyn home. Aaron mentioned that Ryan needs to see a doctor not only for his injured knees but for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD).

Meanwhile, Chet makes a life-sized cardboard cut-out of him that he plans on using for some pranks against the girls. The roommates then prepare for election day as they watch the results from the LGBT center. Chet and Scott leave the night when they feel out of place for voting Republican.

When Ryan and the girls see the new cardboard Chet, they decide to make him an Obama fan and then paint Scott's nails red when he's sleeping.

The roommates escort Ryan to the second annual gala of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) organization.

Ryan then receives a phone call from his brother Aaron saying that he's received a letter in the mail which may send him back to Iraq. At first he doesn't believe Aaron but then tries to deal with the news and having to tell his girlfriend Belle that he has to leave again.

On the next Real World: Brooklyn, Ryan has to share his news with his roommates on his possibly return to Iraq.
