Since they now have "A's" cell phone, the Little Liars decide they need to use Caleb to break into it. Hanna doesn't want to involve Caleb, but in the end, he's the closest thing to helping them uncover "A's" identity, so he's brought in. They don't give him any details about who the phone belongs to, but Caleb tries to retrieve important information. Before "A" makes it impossible to download anything, Caleb is able to get his hands on some files -- one being a photo of the creepy dolls we've seen in the past.
Meanwhile, Garrett and Jenna are on the outs. Spencer reveals to Toby that it's been hard not talking to him - and then they kiss. Byron tells Ezra to never see his daughter again. And Holden, an old friend of Aria's, returns to Rosewood.
It's Caleb's birthday, and Hanna wants to throw him a surprise party. Spencer offers up her family's lake house. Unfortunately, things don't go exactly as Hanna plans. Prior to the party, Emily and Spencer do community service at a crisis hotline. They are stunned when someone calls in with a very suspicious problem -- and it's revealed to be Lucas. Emily and Spencer are convinced that "A" is forcing Lucas to help him/her -- but Hanna doesn't believe it. But at the party, Lucas and Hanna leave alone to set up fireworks before Caleb's arrival. And a huge fight culminates where Lucas and Hanna fall into the lake... and only Hanna surfaces.
