Emily amps up her swimming to try to attract recruiters to make up for her lie about a scholarship. She's using a cream on her shoulder to make up for the pain she's in from increased practice. At school, she doubles over in pain before the big swim meet and when they take her to the hospital they find out that she has an ulcer from all the stress she's been under.
Wren, on a rotation through Rosewood hospital, tells Emily that they found traces of HGH in her system! "A" put HGH in her shoulder cream and threatens to expose Emily's secret with one misstep. Ultimately her father tells her not to worry about the scholarship because he wants her healthy and happy.
Meanwhile, Hanna gets concerned for Caleb when she sees a sketchy looking man following him. Thinking that his past has now caught up to him, she tries to tell Caleb she would run away with him if he needed her to, but he tells her this time he's staying around because he now has someone worth sticking around for.
Spencer and Aria try to find Alison's coroner's report to see if the blunt force trauma would be consistent with a field hockey stick like the one they found buried in the Hastings backyard. When they find the report, they find one page missing from it.
