Jack Cooper from the controller's office visits Ron at the parks department to deliver some bad news: Ron has an outstanding debt for a book he checked out from the Pawnee Public Library. It's a copy of "It's Not the Size of the Boat: Embracing Life with a Micro-Penis." Ron smiles; this could only be the work of his librarian ex-wife Tammy! With Leslie by his side, Ron confronts Tammy and tells her he's dating Wendy now and wants nothing to do with his ex. Tammy should clear the late charges and get lost. At the parks department, the gang plans a pizza party for the police force. With the cops well-fed and tipsy, perhaps they'll agree to volunteer their time working as security during the Harvest Festival! Party planning takes an awkward turn when Wendy arrives to join Ron for lunch - right in front of Tom!

Chris' assistant went back to Indianapolis, so April becomes his temp. Though Chris is looking forward to working with April, it's clear she's annoyed by his buoyant optimism. At JJ's Diner, Wendy tells Ron that she has to move back to Canada to care for her ailing parents. Ron is upset, but he's not about to relocate to Canada for anyone!Later, at the police department pizza party, Ron shares the sad news regarding Wendy with Leslie. Leslie offers him sage - and useless - advice: men are dogs. Ben tries to schmooze with Police Chief Trumple but Ben's awkward banter makes Leslie wince. Suddenly Tom crashes the party - with Tammy on his arm! Looks like Tom's finally had it with Ron parading around with Wendy all the time.

When Tammy finds out that Ron is newly single, she immediately drops the charade - and poor Tom! - and leaves with her ex-husband. Hours later, Leslie finds Tammy and Ron making out in a prison cell. They've had a wild night of drinking, kissing, and have even gotten re-married! Leslie begs Trumple to release Ron into her custody and the police chief reluctantly agrees. Ben is furious; Leslie was supposed to ask Trumple to help with the Harvest Festival! She's asked for the wrong favor! Concerned, the group stages an intervention on Ron. Donna objects to Ron's crazy cornrows and strange-looking kimono while Jerry accidentally enters with a present. He thought it was a reception, not an intervention.

No matter how desperately April tries to get fired, Chris doesn't seem to tire of her. In fact, he even invites her to join him in Indianapolis when he's transferred back. Ann can't believe her ears; why is April getting an invite instead of her? Leslie tells Tom that she blames him for Ron's recent meltdown. If Tom hadn't shown up at the party with Tammy, Ron's psychotic impulses would have never been triggered. Meanwhile, Ben shows up at Trumple's office to ask for security at the Harvest Festival. Trumple readily agrees, stating he's happy to repay Leslie for dating his colleague Dave and making him less annoying to work with.

Tammy and her librarian friends are enjoying Ron's company when suddenly Tom interrupts the party! Tom's come to take Ron back. When Ron defends his relationship with Tammy, Tom makes a bombshell announcement: Tammy doesn't really love Ron. In fact, when Tom asked Tammy to join him at the pizza party, she cackled and said, "Anything to make Ron miserable!" Insulted, Tammy starts beating Tom with hardcover novels until Ron finally comes to his friend's aid. Seeing Tammy beat up poor, pathetic Tom has reminded Ron that Tammy really is a monster. Ron carries Tom out of the library a renewed man. Back at the office, Ben tells Leslie that he's gotten Trumple to agree to help with the Harvest Festival. Leslie and Ben decide to go out together to celebrate. Tom and Ron stay at the office and toast to their repaired friendship.
