In part two of the two-hour finale, the NCIS:LA team takes the Chameleon into custody, only to learn that his master plan for revenge is not yet complete. He informs Callen and Sam that he has Mike Atley, an NSA agent with critical intelligence about Iran's nuclear program, in his custody, and that he will only release Atley in exchange for his own freedom. The Chameleon gleefully watches Callen grow more and more frustrated as his planted clues lead the team on a wild goose chase trying to find Atley. When word comes down that they have to let the Chameleon go in order to save Atley's life, Callen is forced to choose between obeying direct orders or finally subduing his nemesis once and for all.
