During a fundraising event for a local theatre production, a young starlet is pushed to her death from a hotel balcony. As the team gathers clues, they learn that the troubled production is full of possible suspects - from the fading lead actress to the vindictive dancers in the supporting cast, almost everyone had a motive. Jane and Lisbon also question the victim's ex-boyfriend, a con with a history of violence and bad decisions. As opening night approaches, the CBI must hurry to catch the killer.
Jane splits his time between the theatre and the hospital, where he waits for Jason Lennon to emerge from his coma. Jane hopes that Lennon has information that will finally lead him to Red John.
